...okay so Dalton McGuinty doesn't want to sanction the UFC in Ontario so that UFC events can be held in a venue like The Rogers Center in Toronto... but meanwhile apparently other Canadian provinces (such as Quebec and BC) have already sanctioned it and made a lot of money from it.

I'm curious; what are your thoughts on sanctioning UFC in Ontario so it can host such events?

I personally don't have an issue with it at all, as long as they only let adults in to the events (ie. make it mandatory for ticket-holders to be 18+ at the gates)

The other person to blame is Ken Hayashi, the Ontario Athletics Commissioner.

Nothing short of a class action lawsuit will force change ... they are protecting the other martial sports under the guise of fighter safety.

Dalton McGuinty is a dork, anyway. Back when Quebec said flat out NO to any kind of Sharia law arbitration in their province, he was considering doing it in Ontario, until there were mass demonstrations against it, then he shelved the idea because he is a weasel.

The only other way, is underground fight clubs like in that movie Fight Club, and perhaps then they will finally sanction it officially to keep it regulated, rather than let an underground sport flourish.
